The Desert Divas were formed in 2001, when Raheesha teamed up with Jamilla and Erica to perform in the Wessex Arabic Dance Association’s Flower of the Deserts show.
Since then, the troupe has grown to around 40 members and has performed at an array of venues such as the Music for Africa Concerts at Montacute House, 2003-06 Templecombe Medieval Pageant, Yeovil Festival of the Arts showcase, as well as at a variety of village shows, fetes, and parties.
Many of the dancers have choreographed solos and duets which are combined with Raheesha’s group dances, creating a spectacular showcase.
